An Autumnal update for Temperance hall
Following the success of our Open Doors event in early September, we are in a good place with news about listed building consent and further funding…
Haverfordwest’s mayor meets other visitors at the 2025 Open Doors event.
Haverfordwest Heritage, and our group of volunteers working on the Temperance Hall project were give two big reasons to celebrate this September, following the success of our Open Doors event early in the month.
At the very start of the month, we received notification that our application for Listed Building Consent had been approved, and this means we have the go-ahead to properly commence our second phase of works, which will look at the structural elements of our renovation. The building has been through a number of changes prior to our ownership, and therefore this work will ensure the building meets current regulations, and will allow for some clever internal changes that will make the most of the heritage features and provide the best way for people to access all that our new building will offer.
In addition to this, we we also informed later in the month that our Project Development Grant application to Architectural Heritage Fund to progress the architectural designs beyond the current phase was awarded. This means that in addition with commencing work on the building, we can finalise designs and start the process of fundraising for the final phase, which will see the building completed and ready to open.

We now look forward to future updates where we can show off some of our plans and ideas…
