Phase 2 is underway…

Phase Two of renovation work has commenced at Temperance Hall. Our local builders, Tree and Son, have now started removing many of the modern additions to reveal the original structures, to give us a starting point for reconstruction works. The remainder of this phase will now focus on getting the structural works in place, to provide us with an interior that we can fit out in the next (and final) phase of this project.

As we strip back the layers, it is possible to start to see some of the original timber work of this beautiful building. Our plans will be to raise the height of the lobby area, so that our fanlight window is visible from the inside, we will also strengthen these floors so that the building complies with modern regulations, and to replace the flooring to create a full-width mezzanine floor.

This recent social media post shows a little of the work that has been undertaken at Temperance Hall.

In the new year, we hope to see more dramatic changes to the interior as we complete this phase of works. At the same time, we are now fundraising to ensure we have the means to complete the project. We also hope to be able to share some interior plans and further details of how the spaces will be used.
